Places to Include on Your Travel Bucket List

Being cooped up in our homes for the better part of 2020 has ignited our wanderlust. We’ve been itching to go out and travel again. We understand that social distancing is the top priority to help slow down the spread of the virus. But with the recent progress in developing the vaccines, we’ve become more hopeful that our urges to travel will be sated soon.

In the meantime, we are encouraged to stay at home. We’ve been doing what we can to remind ourselves of our beloved travels. We hired a professional to install a balustrade around our terrace to remind us of the overlooking spots that we visited in Rome. We drank matcha every day to remind us of the mornings in Kyoto.

But, admittedly, these things aren’t enough. So, until you can travel again after the pandemic passes, you can start planning your next trip instead. These are the places that you can add to your travel bucket list and tick off when you can travel again.

The British Virgin Islands

After spending months at home, you might be in the mood to lay down on the sand and soak in the sun. A great place for you to visit is the British Virgin Islands or BVI. It’s connected to the island chain, the Virgin Islands in the Caribbean Sea. The BVI is a British territory in the eastern part of the sea.

The BVI is sometimes known as “Nature’s Little Secrets.” The place lives up to this nickname because of the secluded beaches surrounded by clear blue waters. It’s also an ideal place for water sports if you’re in the mood to be active instead of lounging on the sand.

When you’re there, try not to miss out on the Baths. It’s a national park on one of the islands. It consists of beautiful granite boulders that form into a geological wonder that you must see.

Slovenia

If you’re in the mood for an outdoor adventure instead of lazing around on the beach, then Slovenia may be the perfect place for you. When you were traipsing around Europe, you probably overlooked this tiny country in the heart of Europe. And no one could blame you.

Slovenia is a country that’s about the size of the state of New Jersey. But since you’ve probably crossed out the most popular European countries such as France and Italy, it might be time to pay a humble visit to Slovenia.

To fulfill your cravings for an outdoor adventure, you can climb the Triglav, the highest mountain in the country. It’s almost as high as ten thousand feet and is part of the Julian Alps. Once you reach the top, you’ll be blessed with a view of mountains, clear blue waters, and clouds that are almost at your fingertips.

Rwanda

At this point, you might be missing nature so much. And you might miss it, especially if you’ve been quarantining in the city. So for your next destination, you might want to consider going deep into nature in Rwanda. This small but densely populated country in Africa is considered one of the greenest countries in the world. This proves how much they value and care for nature.

So when you’re there, you’d get to interact with gorillas and chimpanzees. In just one park, the Nyugwe National Park, there are 13 varieties of primates. You can also embark on outdoor adventures such as horseback riding, mountain biking, and hiking.

The COVID-19 pandemic has been hard on everyone. Not all of us have the same struggles. Some experienced more challenges, such as losing jobs and struggling with online learning. Some experienced stress and anxiety for being cooped up at home for far too long. But one thing’s for sure, we all can’t wait for the pandemic to end. So, until that happens, we can plan for our great adventure when we finally win against COVID-19, and we’re free to travel around the world again.
